Hi,

I just repartitioned and reformatted my hard drives. I then went on to reinstall Windows XP. Everything was going great, and I was installing all my drivers, and after I installed my printer driver, it asked if I wanted to print a test page, but it wouldnt print. I tried letting it install again, same thing. So I rebooted my computer, and now my system hangs right after the welcome screen. The hard drive works for a while and then just sort of stops. Every so often the HD light flickers for a split second to show that its doing something. I tried hitting the reset button, same thing happens. I did this a few more times to no avail. Then I rebooted and hit F8 so as to enter safe mode, but i just got a black screen. I turned my monitor off and on and then saw the boot choice menu to go into safe mode (I don't know if this is related, but it is definitely odd). I went into device manager and removed the printer (which was still in the Unknown Devices section with a yellow question mark) and restarted normally. The system still hangs after the welcome screen as it did before.

If anyone could assist me that would be great. I don't know if it has to do with the printer driver, or something else. I also don't know why I had to turn my monitor off and on to see the boot choice menu to get into safe mode. I just repartitioned and reformatted and it was great to start fresh, and I'm hoping that I don't have to go through the ardous process all over again to fresh start.

Thanks!
