System freezes up often in some games! HELP !

Hi
I have Riva TNT 2 UTRLA, and 5ali61 chipset.

I installed the most recent drivers for the Ali chipset and Riva tnt 2 ultra card, but the system still freezes on all games.

I am getting detonator 3 from nvidia.com and ali driver from ali web site.

Also the agp apperture size in 32 and 64 freezes too.
What should i do ?

my riva tnt 2 in OEM, i mean unknown manufacturer

could be a lot of things...memory, CPU, corrupt windows files, etc. Make sure everything is up to date - Motherboard BIOS, Video BIOS, ALL Drivers, DirectX with all patches, lastest patches for games, etc...

If you're overclocking, try again at normal settings

Do these lock ups happen to be in D3D games only? If so then a little registry editing is in order, so that you can force it to run at agp1x only.

Take the cover off. See it it's a heat issue. If you have a small 9" fan, set it next to the case.
