System Freezes because of hard drive IDE cable

When I am booting my computer some times it will get stuck on the windows booting screen with the little bar moving and the bar will stop so if i move the hard drives ide cable the bars will start moving and if i let go of the cable then it freezes back up. Also when the computer boots up sometimes it randomly freezes and if i move the cable then it will come back but when I let go it stops again. Does anybody know why it is doing this? Thanks.

You're touching the cable could be incidental. If it does the same with both cables could indicated a board fracture or crack.

Keep your freakin handz off the cable. That ain't a garden hose and it won't kink.

Look elsewhere for the culprit. Bad RAM? Disk diagnostics?

What have you changed in your system lately?
