System files from the wrong BootDisk trouble I think........

I need your input, help plizz. I built a new Pentium system not long ago which I mentioned before in this forum site. But I been having some serious problem I thought it was not serious. I had everything else ready to go for the hardware components but the Windows CD part... It was just beginning of nightmare! I go to scool, so I bought a Windows98SE software for 5 bucks which is good deal but it only came with NOTHING!!! only the CD itself!! No bootdisk or nothing else. I didn't tell ya guys how much problem I've gone through to finally make a bootdisk for win98SE even just to get it started and up and running. I had to get the bootdisk from "www.bootdisk.com" if I remember.. anyhow, I made myself a bootdisk to start. Now, all this happened since 2 months ago. After finally I thought I succeeded installing WIN98SE, when I turn off the computer for the night and start back on next day, the computer finds "system file Error" and askes me whether to fix its registry(system files) that is missing or damaged. I press yes to fix it. Then after it loaded the windows and to desk top, it lost some settings i have set or changed on the windows appearance for example. This happens EVERY time when I turn off the computer and about 30 minutes to several hours or next day. What is going on? So what I did was I wiped the Hard drive, everything!!! including partitions and start all over from scratch. This time I tried something different. I installed the windows in "compact" mode (before it was installed it in "typical" mode) after everything done including drivers and etc.., I get shi.tty framerates in 3D games!! about 6- 8 times slower than before in NFS:HS. yes, I got the lastest driver for V3 2000 and directX 7. But when I turn off computer and when I start the computer next time, I dont have any problem with system registry files.. and it loads windows just fine. So I wiped it out all again. and went back to "typical" installation for Win98SE. Now it's WORSE. I loose EVERTHING, I mean EVERYTHING when i start the computer next time. I lost "all" the drivers(video, HD, sound card, you name it all) and lost all my saved files and everything!!!!! I get standard VGA monitor driver on the desk top. Im thinking maybe the Bootdisk I made gave such trouble in the first place?... Do I need the Original Win98SE bootdisk?.. but I dont have it and can't find it where if that is what I need to solve this problem. So far, I have done all possible outcomes with experimenting my computer problem including wipin out HD 11 times and by the way this test was done with undertweaked, normal, and overtweaked bios setting in the clock speed and everything else. It didn't make a rip!! whether what clock setting I did or what, it gave me nothing but big trouble with the system registry files at the first part of boot process.

How about buying an original copy at the store ?
 
Duckers, do you think I need to get a Windows98SE full package(includes bootdisk) like you said I suppose?.. Is that will probably solve the problem im having? tell me more plizz.. thank you.
 
you could try !

If it doesn't work just return it to the store.
make sure that the store where you buy it accept returns on opened software.
