I have an alienware aurora r4 alx with a i7 3770k. my system fan wont stop making the sound of a jet engine. It spins at around 4000rpm when doing anything remotely intensive. No dust. No gunk. Not overheating(30-33 degrees Celsius). BIOS up to date. At a total loss and could use a little help.
-thanks for your time.

I checked out your Alienware model.

It would seem that this can all be solved with some BIOS tweaks. In that regard, do you know what motherboard is in the Aurora ALX?

The review I found describes an i7-975 system with a "mini-ATX" board. I'm guessing this is an mATX motherboard, but what kind? Which BIOS?

These days, fan control is included at the BIOS level with some Windows software for making adjustments: "Set it and forget it." That is, the fans or pumps can be thermally controlled.
