System failure

I have a big problem, and I suspect I am not the only one.
I built a system based on a P5AD2-E Premium Asus motherboard.
It functions great as long as it is not used for gaming - I play BF2. That is when the system crashes and I get the notification ?System failure due to CPU overclocking?
My problem is that the system is not overclocked.
The JumperFree Configuration is set to AI Overclocking ?Standard? and Performance Mode ?Standard.
Nevertheless, after the problems started I changed the AI Overclocking to ?Auto? and the Performance Mode to ?Auto? to see if it would help, to no avail. I did returned them to Standard settings, where they are now.
I already changed the power supply from an Antec True 430W to an Antec True 2 480W thinking that it could be a power supply problem, but the problem persists.
I am looking for any ideas for what could be causing the problem and how to solve it.

MOBO: Asus p5AD2-E Premium, Bios Ver. 1005
CPU: Pentium 4 550 3.4 GHz.
Power Supply: Antec True Power 2 480W
Memory: Corsair XMS Pro DDR2 675 PC2-5400
HD: WD Raptor 74GB
VideoCard: BFG 6800GT

Are you using the stock heatsink? What are you getting for temps. My 3.4 ran hot and throttled on air until I switched the heatsink to a thermaltake jungle512 with AS5. The jungle512 actualy keeps it cooler than water cooling did.

What leads you to believe your NOt the only one with this problem?

The P5AD2-E Premium Asus motherboard is a solid mobo with no known issues.

So give us supporting facts, plz.

I am using a Thermaltake Silent 775. The average temperature I am getting is 65 C or about 150 F.
The temperature is constant.

I do not dispute the fact that the Mobo is solid. I agree with that. That is the reason I bought it; but there is a problem that needs to be fixed.

when you say "average" temp, what do you mean? Idle or load...or is this a combination of the 2? if 65c is idle, then I could maybe see why it is locking up...that would be a very high idle temp...

The CPU idles at 65 C, and after load reaches 69/70 C.
I am going to be changing the heatsink unit for a Thermalrigh XP-90C.
I will keep posted hopefully by Saturday.

Obvioulsy the temps are bogus!!! No modern air cooled pcu will have a idle to load swing of only 4-5c...especially not a 5xx series prescott...I smell a Bios issue...Have you tried the newest bioses and even downgrading back a few bioses???
