Great, after reading a thread on overclocking winnies, i got the bug again and started to make some changes to my system (A8N-SLI, s939 3200 winchester, 1gb OCZ VX 3200 Gold, 6800GT mbn).

After a couple of reboots i set my memory timings to as tight as they'd go and rebooted. Immediately upon reboot i got told "system failed memory test" and no screen. Bah, reset cmos...

no joy at all! So i tried again, removed plug from wall, reset jumper, removed battery.. EVERYTHING, no joy.. hmm, maybe i'd fried my ram, stick in corsair that i've still got kicking about (thank god).. no better.

I've tried all my ram in all the slots, and the only joy I get is that in one of the slots I get told "cpu fan failed" instead of "system failed memory test", but I still get no display on the screen.

I'm guessing that i've fried the memory controller, (oh, i should mention that the ram was at 3v).. what do you guys think?

k, bit of progress guys... after resetting bios again and rebooting using the mem slot that only gives the me the cpu fan error (which isn't really an error, just something that needs turning off in the bios) I found that I could see stuff on the screen this time. Unfortunately, all is not good news, cos I could barely make out what was on the screen, it was garbled to hell. I changed some bios settings to give more voltage and lower cpu/mem speeds in the hope that it might sort things out, no joy. So i figured i'd try booting into windows to see if I could update the bios, no joy.

I think the motherboard is fubar tbh... what about you guys?
