I'd try them one at a time to see if they all work. If they do I'd double check bios settings if settings look good I'd try another set of ram.

Hmmmm, ok, I changed some of the sticks around - probably not the fix: but I took out some of the plugs for the 'System Panel Header' and just left the Power switch pin in and it is working fine now - still curious though... going for the OS install now.

I've been their before also. When I first tried my Gigabyte E7AUM-DS2H and a e5200 I tried to overclock it. Needless to say I thought my ram was shit so I RMA'd it. The whole time it was the reset button on the case as it was sticking a little sometimes
I'd suggest taking a look at all the connectors you removed and check for possible short or possible wrong connections. Sometimes the fingers get in the way and you might be a pin off or possibly you got the +/- backwards.
