System crashed while running Scandisk and now wont startup

My computer was running Scandisk doing a thorough check when it locked up, couldn't do anthing. After restarting the computer gets to the Windows splash screen and just sits there doing nothing except its little scroll thing across the bottom. Someone help me! Please!

Athlon 1.2 ghz
abit kt7a-raid
256 mb pc133 ram
30 gig WD hd
16x dvd
win ME

I guess you could boot to DOS with the startup disk and try another scandisk from that disk, or if it is not on your startup disk go to the C: and type C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\SCANDISK.EXE

or the registry may be corrupted, then boot to DOS again and type either C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\SCANREG.EXE /FIX or C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\SCANREG.EXE /RESTORE
