System crash

my system crashes when my virus scan automatic updates pop up during gameplay. i am going to turn that off but im curious if that is a normal thing to happen. I had a g force TI 4200 and it was not a problem but now with a 6600gt it has happened twice. I get the Irql not less than equal memory dump blue screen. Thanks
