System clock speeding up - what's the problem???

Crap, you know I saw this question posted in the past and never read about it. Now a friend is asking me for help. We just built him a new stystem with an XP/A7N8X. He says that when he starts the computer the system clock is correct, then it speeds up to double-time while the computar is running. Then if he shuts it off and restarts it has the correct time again. Any ideas?

This is acutually SpyWare causing this which he can remove with either SpyBot: Search And Destroy or AdAware. Of these two I think SpyBot is better. Anyway, update your Spyware definitions and then run a scan and remove all spyware it finds on his system. That should fix the problem.

Your internal hardware clock is in perfect condition however and Windows should reflect this after the spyware has been removed.

Oh, I just remembered. That shouldn't be the case because we just built the computer, clean format, new OS, and he hasn't even really installed anything yet except for Office and Unreal Tournament.
