Hello everyone! Love the forums. Please let me know if you spot any problems with this build, or if you have any suggestions. I would like to OC the CPU to around 3.6 at some point, and I'll be using it for Adobe apps/gaming. I've researched it for several weeks and here's what I come up with:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 120mm Rifle CPU Cooler/ACK-I7751 Retention Bracket
ASUS P5Q Deluxe P45
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR2 800 TWIN2X4096-6400C5
Radeon HD 4870 512MB
WD Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB
CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX TX 650W
SAMSUNG SATA Model SH-S203B

What do you think?
Thanks

Looks pretty solid. If you have any itch to go past 3.6Ghz you may want slightly faster RAM like DDR2-1000, but otherwise DDR2-800 should be just peachy.

That's pretty much the perfect sweet spot build right now in terms of high-end performance at a reasonable price imho.

Excellent! Thanks DSF. I'm thinking I really don't want to try for anything over 3.6Ghz anytime soon. But if that day ever comes, I'll pick up some faster RAM.

If you think you might try it at some point, then I would buy the faster RAM. I believe Newegg is still selling G.Skill's DDR2-1000 kit for right around $80. Better to spend an extra $15 now than have to spend $100 or more in the future for the faster RAM. (Although you could sell you old RAM to defray some of the cost.)

If you're not likely to ever push it past 3.6, then obviously don't worry about it.
