System buying advice....Need opinions.

I was planning to put together a decent gaming system.
7900GT
nForce 4 Ultra motherboard
2 GB of RAM
a couple 300 GB hard drives

Now, following those loose guidelines I was wondering...Should I buy a lower end P4 or maybe even a Celeron to hold me over and then buy a Conroe Processor later or Buy an Opteron 939 based now and not worry about it until I'm ready to build another system.

Thanks. 🙂

Give us a budget and what parts you need exactly and people will help you out. My advice on the proc would be get a 3000+ and OC it or get a cheap single core opteron and OC it(I dunno what the value of opty's are anymore u have to look into it some.) Also why do you need so much HDD space I would say maybe only get one 300G HDD for now which will take you quite some time to fill and put money towards other components and get another HDD later.

I was thinking about an opteron 144 or 146 and OC it or mabye a Celeron or a P4 and OCing it. I want a lot of hard drive space because I burned through 200 GB like nothing. I have things like movies, DVD rips, music, porn etc. that'll take a lot of space, but yeah I probably could just buy one for now. Also, my budget is going to be about 1000 dollars, but i'd prefer as little cost as possible by buying the best bang/buck mid-high end parts.
