Well, I got my core parts last night and rebuilt my system. Here are my observations from the start (lots of tweaking needs to be done):

Chenming 301KE
Leadtek NF2 400 Ultra Deluxe Limited
AMD XP2500+ (speed locked :( )
2x256MB PC3200 Mushkin Level II Black
Dead Maxtor 80GB Drive (lost all MP3's and other stuff)
Zalman CNPS7000A-AlCu
GeForce3 Ti200 (I know, FX5900 hasn't been shipped yet)

Observations and Issues:
1. After installing the mobo in the case, I found that the brackets for the Zalman HSF needs to be installed prior to the mobo being installed
2. After installing Zalman and mobo brackets, found out the processor needs to installed prior to Zalman brackets
***Headaches already...wasted 45 minutes (puppy was trying to help too)***
3. I was lost trying to find the 12V cable connection on the mobo. It doesn't exist.
4. Everything is all plugged in and ready to go. Starts up, then shuts down. Did this 3 times before I could read what was on the screen. The HSF was not spinning, so the board was shutting down. The problem was that the HSF's rpms were too low and the rear & front fans weren't plugged in. I accidentally unplugged them. Once plugged in, the air coming of the back froze my leg. I had to move it.

Total time: 1.5 hours. Remove the dumbass mistakes and assistance from my puppy, would have been finished in less than 30 minutes. Hey, at least it kept the wife outta my hair.

5. After all this, the system came up without error. I get WinXP reinstalled, install all the latest security patches, get all my drivers updated. Viola. No more issues....except...
6. I install CPU-Z. I don't recall all of the details, but the Barton 2500+ is only showing 1470MHz. That seems low to me. The FSB and memory values seemed low also. I didn't have time to look into it, so that is the weekend project. I also have to do ALOT of cable cleanup inside the case, but that wasn't a top priority.

Make sure your running the FSB at 166MHZ. You're running a 133 FSB right now. 166*11 = 1826 which is your true speed for that processor. Takes a few seconds and voila!

Incidentally you are not hampered by the fact your processor is locked. Once you get the system set up right slowly increase the FSB speed to see what you can OC it to. This is all dependent on several factors, however and results will and DO vary.

Don't look at all of your screwups as problems, chalk them up to experience :D

i think the 12v connector was designed for the extra power consumption of the Pentium 4 when it came out. many AMD boards are built without that connector. don't worry if you can't find one on your board.

anyways, you have a great CPU (despite its multiplier being locked...oh well, so you'll have to use the fsb to OC), great memory, and a very capable video card on the way. looks like a good system...congrats.

and yes, 11 x 133 = 1463MHz...just change the fsb to 166MHz and you'll be running at 1833MHz.
