System booting up slowly question

Ever since a few days after I first put together my new computer, the windows boot screen takes about 15 passes of the bar until it loads;I was wondering what would cause it to take so long loading. At first it would only take my system about 3 1/2 passes until it loaded, then out of nowhere it started doing this. What could it be?

My System Specs.
AMD Athlon 3200 Venice
Asrock Dual SATAII Motherboard
Geil 2x512mb PC3200 Ram
Excelstor 7200RPM 80gb ATA133 Harddrive( I realize this isn't the fastest harddrive, but I don't think it would contribute to this problem greatly.)
ATI Radeon 9800 pro 8x AGP
FSP Group (Fortron Source) AX450-PN ATX12V 450W Power Supply

Check your startup files - most common problem is too many unnecessary files being loaded. Run msconfig or use startup.exe from www.mlin.net to delete them. Spyware and malware commonly add these files - so do the usual maint. - windows updates, update av abd scan in safe mode, spybot/adaware scans. Spybot is better for removing files already loaded at startup.
