I'm on XP SP1, and when nothing is running at all, the process labeled System jumps from 15-30% or more and just continually jumps around. My system is slowing also. I have updated my viruscan, scanned the drive, done all windows updates, and no changes.

Any ideas?
 
actually i did that after post, no help

buuuuuut, i did say hell why not and installed sp2, and with all of the stuff that it changes, it ACTUALLY FIXED THE PROBLEM!!!

this is the first time in history that SP2 has actually ever fixed anything...
