System admin pulled a prank on me today...

One of the admins where I work decided it would be funny if they swapped my lcd with a broken one... so when I got there in the morning and fired up the pc I looked at the screen and saw it was broken. I thought damn, someone wrecked my screen. So I went and told the admin who told me to let my boss know... I told him (he was in on this "prank") and he started getting angry and asking me what I had done to the monitor and why I would do something like that. I told him that when I left last night it was fine, so he left the room to go get the system administrator. The admin came in and started jabbing the screen with her finger and asking me "did you do this to the monitor? or this?". It went on like this for about 15 minutes, my coworkers (didn't know about the prank) vouching for me the whole time... finally when I was on the verge of snapping on them they said "That monitor has been broken for a long time, we just wanted to show some of the newer people what not to do to a monitor." I am still kind of annoyed about this because they carried it on for so long, I do see the humor in it but I want revenge  So now I have to come up with something to get them back. The computer I am at doesn't have a whole lot of access to files on the computer/network, but I did figure out how to get into dos. So can anyone think of something I could do to get back at the system admin that isn't overly harmful to the network? I don't really know a whole lot about how to get past admin passwords and whatnot so any help would be appreciated or if someone can think of another prank I could pull that would be helpful.

Prank wars at work sound like a bad idea unless your boss and SA have the stomach for them.

Plug something insanely loud into the surge protector strip (which is most likely under the desk and requires a bit of crawling or reaching to get to.) Turn off the surge protector strip. Wait for them to arrive in the morning and turn it back on. :)

I laughed. That would be pretty funny though.

They have the stomach for them... it started off with the system admin getting mad at me for finding solitaire on the computers and then showing it to everyone, so she blocked it out... I found another way in, she blocked that and said I couldn't find another way... I found another way and she blocked it out... the latest way in took a bit to figure out (right click disabled, nothing in start menu other than files that are work related etc.etc.), I am not worried about doing something bad as long as it doesn't damage company property.

NO!!! NOT ACCESS TO DOS!!@#!@$@!$

OMG, whatever you do don't try and open a subnet socket and access the Pheonix Firewall, it will erase all the files on the network with a poison pill!!!

Tape down the part of the telephone that pops up when the receiver is taken off the hook. Watch him wonder why it won't work.

I don't know how much stuff you know, but most IT guys have their cellphones linked into a network monitoring box so when something goes down, they're sent a text or voice message. If there was a way to emulate that or actually get into it, you could have a fun time making them come in Sunday morning.

Simply use IE to cruise around your files. :)

Do you also have to ask for the key to the bathroom?

Oh, those are easy to crack.. You just need to get Jack Bauer and the bad guy from season 6 to team up and shoot the guy behind the firewall first.

Oh wait. That bad guy is dead and Jack is probably in a Chinese prison by now. Sorry dude, you're screwed. :)

Go download a bunch of nasty viruses and get them running on your machine. That will raise havoc on the network and cause hell for the SA, and on the side will expose any security holes they may have. All he'll have to do to fix it is re-image your machine but he'll have all kinds of fun to deal with on the network.
