Hey Guys,

I have a Q6600 and a Gigabyte P35 DQ6 mobo. Vista x64.

I had been using 4x1GB of Kingston 667 DDR2 (KVR667K2K2). I just upgraded to 4x2GB of Corsair XMS2 (see here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/...p?Item=N82E16820145184 )

All 8GB shows up in BIOS and in windows task manager.

The problem:
- My computer now takes 2m45s to boot, vs ~40 w/ the 4GB.
- Everything in Windows runs really slow.
- Vista cannot detect "Processor" or "Memory (RAM)" in Control Panel -> System

What is going on? This was supposed to be a nice upgrade, and instead my system is running like total trash. Taking out the sticks and putting in the 4x1GB makes everything go back to normal. Am I missing something here?

that might have done the trick. its detecting the ram/cpu now in windows, and booted in mid 40's of seconds (altho the other booted in 30's i think on a second test. might just be within margin of error)
