Hey,

Okay so I've made my installation just the way I want it but I want to rid the machine of any user accounts that are on it before I run sysprep -reseal.
How do I do this?

Does sysprep do it for me, I can't find the info.
Thanks

I think you will have to have an admin account.

but you can build everything in the admin acount then copy the admin account to the default users acount then sysprep. any new account created is built off of the default users account.

Default user is hidden you will have to show hidden folders before you can copy to that account.

Sysprep does not do this for you, you'll need to go delete the account(s) you want rid of before you run it.

Okay, this is the situation as it stands right now...

Got a brand new laptop, went through the original windows setup, provided an admin password and then provided one user account (Laptop Admin). I used the Laptop Admin account to set up all the applications etc and then ran sysprep.
After rebooting I got the windows setup again but this time it DID NOT prompt me to create user accounts .. it did prompt for an administrator password though, but there is only one account, the Laptop Admin account i created and it logged into that account automatically.
WTH?

I want the end user to create their own account and provide a new admin password, ideally I want to be rid of the Laptop Admin account but I couldn't log in as "administrator" to remove that account.

You need to remove the "Laptop Admin" account and run Sysprep from the Administrator (pro) or Owner (home) account. Here's what you do:
XP Pro
1. Log out of your account
2. If you are at the welcome screen, press control+alt+del twice to display the gina.
3. At the gina, type in "Administrator" as the username, and whatever you set as the admin password for the password
4. When logged in, delete the other account, and then run Sysprep. When it reboots, it will ask you for new user account names.

XP Home
1. Create an account called "Owner"
2. Log off your account
3. At the welcome screen, log into "Owner"
4. Delete your other account and run Sysprep
