OK...

So??

So a city board shouldn't be preserving buildings that have religious symbols on it. It violates the "separation of church and state" and appears to be endorsing one religion over another.

The church was given landmark status, thus requiring government approval for any changes to the building. No different process than for the owners of any non-religious building with landmark status to make changes.

Bullshit. Buildings which have historical value are just that.

Only atheist activists see it as endorsing a religion.

It's not.

Move on.

Most don't. I guarantee that if a mosque of historical significance were at risk of demolition and objections were made on that basis he'd be crying about Christians.

Ahhh Yes - The "State" sold the property to the Mooselumz, who removed the Christian iconography in a premeditated, outrageous, and violent act of 'cleaning up after the last owners', and the story wound up in the news, where internet trolls can make threads about it.

Thanks for the clarification. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

How is this an example of separation of church and state?

The Landmark Preservation Board agreed that it was the religious rights of the new owners to remove the crosses.

A govt group upholding religious rights is an example of separation of church and state?

That's absurd.

If there is an issue here it would be about whether the board is following the rules for historic buildings or is bending them to get a vacant building put into use.

Absolutletly the OP would be attacking Christians if they ever did this but because it's against them he is alright with it. A complete hypocrite.

Mormons don't use crosses. We don't like looking at implements of torture. What is the point?

Having been raised LDS, it kinda creeped me out anytime I happened to do something at my friends' Roman Catholic church. Torture Porn Jesus hanging tall behind the pulpit is not something I was used to.
