Question Synology DS923+ , NAS Hard Drive Question

Have DS716+, running 2 8TB Ironwolf drives (SHR, btrfs).
Upgrading to a 4 bay NAS. I plan on buying 2 additional drives since the new NAS is a 4-Bay. Was thinking either 10 or 12 TB WD or Iron Wolfs. Any suggestion on brand, and is it worth buying the biggest capacity drive that I can afford, or stick with more 8 TB drives? Home Media/Movies/Personal files will be the main use of the NAS

I use 8tb WD Red drives in raid 10 and they've been flawless for years.

I've been looking at 18/20tb options though.

I used 18tb Iron Wolf Pros in both my DS413 and DX513 for 2 years before decommissioning them and moving the drives to a dedicated PC/NAS.
Never had a problem.

Have you considered QNAP? I happened to read comments on this PR article and have to say that I've lost some interest on Synology stuff.
