I just setup this up a few days ago and I thought those of you with multiple computers might find it interesting.

Basically I have a macbook pro and a linux desktop that I use. I hate having two sets of keyboards and mice on my desk, and I also hate that I can't copy and paste between the two machines using a hardware kvm (not to mention the fact that I have yet to find usb kvms).

So I found synergy. It's a client/server application that allows you to share your clipboard, keyboard, and mouse between any mac, windows, or linux/unix machine.

It is very easy to setup but on osx and linux does require you to do some work in text config files.

I'm in the process of starting a little blog to talk about cool stuff like this so I wrote a (hopefully) nice howto complete with a applescript management tool.

Let me know what you think http://tacticalcoder.com/blog/...-osx-and-linux/#more-7

P.S I know I have a few spelling errors on there. But feel free to point them out anyway. Writing has never been my strong suite, but I am trying to improve.

Yea, Synergy is a godsend. I've been using it daily for the past few years. To simplify your life on OS X, check out QSynergy -- it's a great GUI that simplifies things ten-fold. It also has Win32 and Linux binaries.

That is exactly what I have been looking for for OS X. I don't think it would help me on my linux computer because I need synergy to start up before a user logs in. But that is a lot better then the little graphical applescript I wrote.
