I, too, am intrigued. I fondly remember playing the original by Bullfrog...way back....when was it...early 90's?

I'm intrigued I guess is a good word. I'm ready to hate it too though. I liked the original Syndicate for the tactical aspects of it and setting up massive suicide bombings and persuadatron mass killings etc. setting up your ambush of a target and whatnot.

This so far doesn't seem to have any of that to it.

Wasn't the original a top down tactical style game similar to Jagged Alliance?

THis looks like pure FPS style gaming. I did see where you could take control of the one dude and make him kill another guy and then kill himself.

Can not check while at work, but if this is true

Looks a bit like the new Deus ex.

then it is a fail / going to pass on it.

Syndicate (and the following Syndicate Wars IIRC) is team management, not FPS.

Makes it like what C&C:Generals did to C&C or StarCraft:Ghost Recon did for StarCraft.

"Same" universe, but generally not for the people that liked the original game stlye.

It does look interesting as it's own game, but I really wanted a new squad based tactical game like the originals. They were really more of a problem solving game then a pure run and gun (although run and gun was often a valid solution to the problem!)

Also I'm betting that part of the video where he persuadatroned the guy into killing himself was a cut scene. I can't see the devs letting you have something as game breaking as the persuadatron was. Part of the fun of Syndicate was getting an army of citizens to follow you around and be cannon fodder.

F youtube, I do not want to link my youtube account to a google account. Why is every site wanting some type of login to see stuff. Argh!

The best part was getting a massive army of civilians following you around and then using one of those suicide bomb thingies and watching a flower of screaming burning people running away from the flashpoint. Oh man, that was so much fun! :D

Some of that futuristic tech looks pretty nifty. I never played the original Syndicate game, so I'm not too worried about that stuff.

Syndicate was one of my favorite games in the 90's. I'll have to check out this video when I get home.
