I got this monitor from BB when they had it on sale for $130 AR. But my cost was way below $100 thanx to some gift cards and an open box :)

This is an excellent quality monitor for avg users. It can only do 1280x1024 @66Hz so i say it's for simple home users who are satisfied with 1024x768 resolution. The glass is perfectly ruler-flat. You'll hear whiners that debate about the slightly curved inner tube, but don't pay attention to them. You'll only notice it if you try really hard and look for it!!.... duh.... otherwise when you view it from the NORMAL position, it's a totally flat image. Excellent edge-to-edge viewing. Just for the record, ALL crt based monitors MUST be curved to some degree for proper electron gun alignment. Otherwise, the whiners should just get a lcd flat screen and be quiet. Bottom line, i love this monitor :D

Got this monitor for $85 shipped AR from Dell this past summer. I love it since it's easy to carry around for LAN parties.

Me too!

I think it's a very nice monitor. However if you're looking for something that will do 100mhz under ever res...go elsewhere. It's more or less your average 17 inch monitor.

Without a doubt this is the best bang for your buck 17" monitor you can buy.

Bought my wife a Samsung 753DF for $89 after $30 MIR with free shipping from Dell last year, awesome monitor.

Very good monitor, particularly for the money. We have two at my house, and a few of my co-workers got in on the Dell deal last year- everybody's happy. One guy put his older high end trinitron on the kids' box so he could have the Samsung for himself. In a blind test, these will compete very well against monitors costing a lot more.

I personally think that resolutions above 1024x768 are useless on a 17" monitor, except maybe for gaming with an extremely high-end vid card.

Korean goods are generally a bargain at the present time, they really got reamed by the IMF and currency speculators a while back..... forced a radical devaluation of their currency.....

I'm so tempted to pick up another one of these to run a dual monitor setup. Arghh, my wallet is under heavy fire.

got it for $125 AR a year ago. Was a gift for my sister.. and i tested it out for a week since i didnt' have the parts for her computer finished yet... and as long as you don't go over 1024x768, it's great. I went back to my CTX VL700.. man o man did it look like a FISH BOWL. And it's not really that curved.

I'm still looking for something like this, but that will do the 1152x864@85... and wont cost me an arm and a leg

Not as good as the $85 deal, but decent nonetheless. I will vouch for this monitor and am a big fan of Samsung monitors in general. This is probably the best monitor bargain out there. Decent reliablilty, good picture, and low price make this a great monitor. As long as you can live with a maximum of 1024x768, this is the monitor for you.
