The more I use Windows Mobile for business the more it seems that it doesn't handle business situations very well, particularly email.

- Syncing with google email accounts.

I have 4. My personal, my photography, my furniture website, and my mom's acupuncture website. I want them all to push email to my phone.

Windows Mobile seems to support only ONE email account with push? Push email also does not work for custom domains with email hosted through google apps.

Ex. admin@myexamplesite.com with email through google apps is impossible to configure for push with WM. The reason is because WM automatically assumes the domain is myexamplesite.com, instead of google.com, and doesn't allow you to change the domain on your own.

I currently have all my accounts connecting at 5 minute intervals via pull email. The photography one especially requires this.

Don't think it's possible to have multiple push email accounts on a single device. You'd have the same limitation with an iphone, I believe.

try this, create another gmail account and have all your mail forwdarded to it and pull the emails from this account.

Probably going to be the best way. You can also setup labels so emails from each account are colored a different way.

And FWIW, Android lets you do what you want... ;)

Yeah, either forward those emails, or you can go on your main gmail account and link your other ones.

Unfortunately I can't get Android on SERO. Unless someone ports it successfully to the Touch Pro 2.

Anyway, say that I get everything forwarded to my personal email account. When I reply to a business email, the "from" field will be from my personal email account, resulting in:

1. confusion for my clients
2. me no longer having a record of purely business dealings in a purely business email account

Remember the biggest plus of windows mobile pushed by its fans:
It's an open platform, so you can find software to do anything. Most of the short comings of the OS can be overcome with a few small $30 purchases! There's likely an email app that does what you want if the built in email app doesn't.

Built in email application only supports one exchange\push account at a time.

But there's an app for that. ;)

i have my personal, work and two other accounts on my winmo 6.1 phone, the work one is set to s/r every 10 min, the others at 30 and 60 min. why are you having such an issue with this? are the emails exchange only? if you have pop and smtp server names for them you can add as many email accounts to your phone as you want. at least i can on my omnia.

Ironic that with the iPhone, the fact that there are apps for everything (many of the good ones, paid apps) is one of the biggest plusses, yet with Windows Mobile, you chastise them for it.

This "shortcoming" you're talking about is mirrored in most mobile platforms right now, its not Windows Mobile exclusive.

Windows mobile seems to have less functionality built in than other mobile os's, and less free/really cheap apps to add it. Iphone apps are $1 to $5, windows mobile apps are $20 to $30.

My friend just sold his brand new windows mobile phone on ebay to get a droid. Windows Mobile could have done everything he wanted, but it was going to cost something like $60 in app purchases, whereas droid had everything built in, or free apps to add it.

I'm not sure what mobile OSes do have this limitation though. I don't think android 2.1 does, maemo definitely doesn't, and I don't know about the latest iphone and blackberry opearting systems. But more and more functionality is getting built into the phone operating systems, while microsoft seems to purposefully be holding windows mobile back to push windows phone 7. Windows mobile deserves the Windows XP treatment, and it doesn't get it.

I had a T-Mobile Dash back in the day, and I now have the HD2. I haven't had to buy anything. XDA has a free app for pretty much everything. No, its not as easy to find them, but they're still there.

Android added support for multiple Exchange accounts with 2.0 -- which the vast majority of Android phones do not have, and may or may not get. The iPhone, to the best of my knowledge, does not support multiple exchange accounts. webOS does, I think Blackberry does but I could be wrong. So, between WinMo, iPhone, and pre-2.0 Android...that'sa pretty big chunk of the smartphone market that doesn't support this. Maemo supports it? Whoopee, all 4 N900 owners can do it!

I know you keep harping on WinMo 6.5 being dead, but frankly, you're wrong. Microsoft is still actively developing for it, even if some 3rd parties are not.

What is microsoft developing for it?

The operating system itself is still under development. They just released the first phones with 6.5.3 recently, which vastly improves the default interface + internet explorer, and there are development builds of 6.5.5 floating around out there.
