So, anyone know of how to sync everything related to iTunes between two computers? I want to make it so that the iTunes that I have on my laptop is essentially the exact same as the one on my desktop. This would make things like putting together playlists and new music I add to my collection with certain details added (for instance, fixing id tags and adding things like BPM, comments, etc) easier and actually doable.

I've done some google searching but nothing is getting me what I am wanting. :(

Isn't that what iCloud is supposed to do? (You do have to have Vista/Win7, though...)

Yeah, it might be $25 per year or whatever, but it's worth it and fairly painless. It's nice having my entire music library available at work, on my laptop, on my ipad, etc... I only host my music on my primary system, and then just stream to the others.

It is not going to work when I am offline. And I want my media available when I am offline. :\

Then at best you'll probably have to sync the entire itunes library folder via network shares. If your music is located elsewhere, then you'll have to sync that to the same path as well (i.e. c:\users\trident\my music\itunes and d:\music on both computers)

I haven't tried this and I dunno if there is machine specific info in the library xml files or something, though. So try at your own risk of hosing your library files or something.

It doesn't work that way. It's streaming only for home sharing with iTunes. Learn 2 read.

Comprehension fail on your part. We are talking about iCloud, and that's exactly the way it works.

You're welcome, ingrate.

Regardless, I don't want to pay $25/yr for that when I know there are free alternatives that are faster. You all just apparently don't know of them. I know they exist. I just don't know of them.

Again, not effective. It doesn't sync the music, playlists, file information edits, or preferences. All it does is stream. It won't work if I am not at home either or not connected to the internet.

If you want an actual copy of the file, itunes isn't what you should be looking at then. It copies your playlist, essentially syncing between the two. If you look into how it works, you may find that it's what you're looking for.
