whats the best way to synchronize between a desktop and laptop? I use winxp Pro on both. Primarily I want to synchronize my outlook so that they both stay up to date when i travel w/ the laptop. I tried using briefcase by dropping my current desktop outlook pst file into the laptop briefcase (just located on desktop), but the laptop looks for the pst file in the /documents and settings/xxx/local settings/application data/microsoft/outlook folder. In addition to outlook, i use MS Money and others that i would like synchronized.

thanks.

It's a pain but I use the Import/Export feature in Outlook. If you have the PST, just run outlook and go to File > Import and Export and take it from there.

I'd recommend LapLink for some stuff. And set up an FTP and use WS_FTP Pro's sync utlity to sync the files and all.

I'm looking for some way to synchronize specificially for example when the laptop modified the .pst file by an email being sent, and the desktop modified the .pst file by receiving an email.. when both are synchronized together i want it to update both to one file. Right now it synchronizes by latest date and overwrites what was changed on one or the other. hope that makes sense. I used to have a pocketpc and the synch program that came with it did just that. I i forget to synch my pocketpc w/ outlook after a couple of days, i don't lose emails sent or received w/ it but it merges w/ my desktop.
