Synchronized Music Playback Though A LAN?

Question: I have a home network and a large music collection. Is it possible to synchronize music playback through a LAN so that two computers are playing the same thing at the same time, and preferably at full-uncompressed WAV quality? The idea is to be able to walk around the house and hear the music playing regardless of where you are, could be useful for parties, etc. This Should be possible, but I have yet to find any software that accomplishes this feat.

Thanks for your insight.

Scootin159, do you know any good websites / resources on doing that?

Hi,
Here's your solution:

First of all: designate one of your pc's as a stream-server, install winamp on it. Download Shoutcast Server at:

http://www.shoutcast.com/download/serve.phtml

Install it, then download and install the shoutcast broadcast plugin:

http://www.shoutcast.com/download/broadcast.phtml

When all that is done, and all is configured completely and correctly, download and install Winamp on all your "client" pc's.:

http://www.winamp.com/

On the PC you made your server (wich has the server and broadcast plugins installed) create your playlist, and start playing through the plugin.

On the clients:
With winamp you can connect to an ip adress using "play location" (or CTRL+ L)

Enter the ip adress of your server and click ok.
You will now hear the playlist playing as played by your server.

Happy Playing!

Wow, I think I might have to implement that myself.
