Synchronize 2 folders on different partitions

I want to keep two folders on two different partitions syncronized as a backup. Not sure if I can do this natively in XP. Was looking at some "briefcase" thing but it won't do it automatically? If I can't do any of you have a recommendation for a good alternative?

good question. I would like to know also.
I map two partitions from 2 different computers on my Lan. Like to be sure the data on one is always accessible, as we tend to experiment on both and we all know what that can lead to.

There seem to be a TON of applications that do this. I am not sure which do it automatically, which is what I want. Don't want to have to push a button for it to sync.

You can always use Xcopy and make a batch file to do that for you. I used this at work when moving files over from our old file server to our new one. Then just use the Task Scheduler that's built into Windows to execute the batch file.
