Sync other Non-Apple Devices with Itunes

I use itunes to manage my library. It's done, I can't switch, I'm not moving all my meta data I'll have a crying fit over it.

However, all my smart playlists are based on playcounts and playlists.

I want to purchase a non apple mp3 player that is cheap, but still have it sync to itunes and update playcounts.

Anything that can do this yet? Highly frustrating.

Samsung makes a non phone Android device, there's a cheap app called iSyncr in the Play store that works beautifully with iTunes. I like you will not move to another program, so finding that app was a life saver. I don't know of any strictly mp3 players outside of iPods that work with iTunes.

There's also DoubleTwist, that I think will read all the iTunes playlist information. The Windows Phone Connector did that as well (I had a Windows Phone 7 device for a while).

If this works, I think I may fall in love with you with...

It says I have to pay!
Hmm: $4 dollars for an app.... or the $150 I was going to spend eventually on an ipod nano....

haha I hope this works. I can get it on amazon and use it on any of my devices. That will rock. I have a lot of android devices because I have an obsession with google but I've used itunes for way too long to switch. Apple is still king of ipods. When my car works as flawlessly with other devices as an ipod then we'll see. Too bad though I still can't find an app that will let me hook my S3 up to my car and record playcounts like that as well. Still need an ipod for that.

iSyncr is flawless, I use it with PlayerPro. PlayerPro ties in with iSyncr for ratings. Which sync ratings back to iTunes. It also keeps track of play counts too. I have it sync over wifi automatically every morning @ 5am. So I can get a new smart playlist (songs I've never heard) every day. DoubleTwist works too, but it sucks big time. As for the S3 car stereo thing, if you play songs with PlayerPro it will sync play counts back to iSyncr.

I feel you on the intergration thing, but imho even if head units get 10x better Android support, Android will still have nothing that touches iTunes & it's Smart Playlists. I've tried every media program out there, and Apple's implementation of playlists is in a whole different galaxy. For this reason alone I won't be ditching iTunes anytime soon.
