Sync, Async, Nforce2 mobo question

I keep on reading threads that say it is a proformance hit when running a nforce2 system async. I can see that. That makes sence to me.

Example:

CPU with a 166fsb and runnning PC2100(133mhz) memory.

BUT

Does the same hold true if your running the memory faster then CPU fsb??

Example:

CPU with a 166fsb and running PC3200(200mhz) memory?
