Symantec Corporate Edition

When trying to uninstall an old version of corporate edition the computer froze while doing it, so when i restarted the machine the program works fine still, but it is not in the add/remove list.

If I run the installer again from the managed server, will it have an option to do a repair or do i have to do a Manual uninstall?

I am not sure why you have to do but I guess you are getting an idea of why you NEVER install Symantec junk on your system. It takes over the entire machine and makes it run like a boat dragging an anchor and uninstalling it can be a pain. I usually just do a fresh install of any PC that has had any of their junk on it to make sure it is really gone....kind of like you have to do when AOL is on a system.

This is Symantec Corporate. It doesn't do that at all. It is actually fairly lean and does a very good job. I use it on all my home systems since I get it for free through my job.

I'm not sure what is going on with this issue though. I've never had a problem like that.

anyway. Search Google for "uninstalling symantec antivirus" for instructions. It's no different than many programs that dont sompletely uninstall. Ever tried unstalling nvidia drivers?

The only issue you may encounter with CE is a password protected install. You may need to password from the admin to deinstall it, which could be the issue.

While there are tools provided from Symantec/Norton to remove the retail versions of their AV programs, there is not one for the corporate version that I can find.
