I would like the transfer all settings, from the current 2000server to a new 2003 server. Is it possible to transfer everything like the tape drive settings and Jobs, and the media retention settings?

I tried the copy settings to new server option from our old 2000server, it completed sucessful. But it doesnt look like any changed. The Jobs are not showing, etc....

Im not sure about the changeover from 2000 to 2003. I know it works if you are replacing a server and going from 2003 to 2003. Sorry, im not much help.

yes i believe so but i don't know how. i'd ask on a symantec site

If I were you I'd document it and recreate it from scratch. We fight with backup exec all the time where I work and entrusting it to "copy" all your settings over IMO is being a bit optimistic.

Taking Chiefcrowe's suggestion, contact Symantec. We usually try to follow any 'best practices' or information found in the knowledge base.

yeah, agreed. The one time i have had to do this so far, it was taking so long and seemed so painstaking of a process that I decided to just write down what all i did and then install on the new server and set up from scratch, which worked pretty well.
