Sygate Personal Firewall not running after formatting?

I recently reformatted my computer and installed Windows XP Pro SP2 onto it.

I downloaded Sygate Personal Firewall from downloads.com and installed it. After installation, it asked to restart so I did and after my computer restarted, I tried to load the program but it wouldn't load up.

I checked in processes and it was not there and I tried to execute it through the actual .exe as well as the shortcut but nothing. It is also set to start up with windows.

I really like this firewall software and I have used it in the past with Windows XP Pro SP2 but I don't know why it isn't working now.

I even uninstalled and then reinstalled but no go...what could be wrong?

Keep it uninstalled and switch to a different firewall such as Comodo, LnS, Jetico, etc., or simply use a hardware NAT router which blocks incoming traffic ("stealthing" your ports) by default.
