Sygate is blocking it from sending data to the net.

What is it sending?

Obviously it's allowing you to double post, despite its best efforts. And hell if I know what it's sending...you could try a packet sniffer...but judging by your question, you probably wouldn't know how to use one.

Can't you figure it out from the file name? :p

It's your OS kernel file. Good question on what it's trying to send, though.

Don't listen to them. It's a worm. It's reproducing. Get rid of it.

Doesn't apply in this particular case, but I've seen some evil worms that try to hide themselves as legitimate program files, like c:\winnt\system32\explorer.exe. And there's others that'll hide themselves in your font folder (ever try using explorer to find a normal file in your font folder?). So be careful, some bad stuff out there.

I have Sygate and am pretty sure that I can't connect to the other PC in my local LAN if I prevent that file from gaining access, but am not certain. It's one of those damn mysterious system files.

In any case, it's a legit Win2k file, just not sure if you want to allow it access to your network connection.
