I think I see why they started Killjoys 1 week behind Dark Matter, besides the fact that it's a shorter 10 episode season. I can't imagine SyFy/Space wanted both shows' 5th episodes running on the same night, seeing as how the premise was so similar. I guess salvaging is a popular thing to do for your 5th episode?:p

Ratings time again

Dark Matter - 0.25 (0.3) & 1.01M viewers
Killjoys - 0.24 (0.2) & 965K viewers
Defiance - 0.23 (0.2) & 1.11M viewers

Some great lines in this one, overall entertaining episode. I wonder if they have a sound perspective on the "humanity of A.I." in the show though, in one episode it's full on machine, programming and purpose, next episode there is a jealous android.

Seems like they played that card (death of 3's soulmate) a little too soon. I guess they might as well tell the stories they want to tell asap, since there is no guarantee of a renewal. Andt lol @ them explaining the entertainment android's accent. I dont know if thats smart writing or just a simple joke. In the future you would think old earth accents would be gone, and new space region accents evolve.

I like Dark Matter and Killjoys. So I thought I'd try out Defiance. Watched the first 10 minutes of the pilot, and am wondering whether it's just a Sci-Fi Western or whether it's going to get halfway decent at some point still. Since I don't want to watch several episodes just to find out it's indeed a Western hereby the question: Will it get any better or am I better off skipping it?

(Note: I really don't like Country. I already muted the opening scene where they sing along to the radio. If they're going to play 'music' like that regularly in the show it's definately not for me)

There is a show on Netflix called Exploding Sun. It stars 3 and several others that is a pretty decent show if you like B rated Syfy movies. It even co-stars the girlfriend in the pod from last week. If anyone gets a chance, check it out.

Can't believe that Defiance is doing better than the other 2. I mean, I like the show but even I have to admit it kinda sucks. I just love scifi so much it almost doesn't matter what they produce, I'll still watch. But the other 2 shows are sooooo much better. I don't understand. The only thing I can think of is that we might be reaching peak scifi - there are enough shows already on that any new show is competing for time with the existing ones. Except it really doesn't seem there is that much on tv for that to happen.

Right now you have Extant, Falling Skies (which sucks), Humans, Mr. Robot (which really isn't scifi but close enough), The Strain (again, close enough) and that's really about it unless you want to include something like Teen Wolf or Under the Dome. So I have to ask, where is the scifi love?

VC country?

Venture Capital. The show is going into a completely different direction where our heroes will become investors like Shark Tank and will bid on buying into new governments.

Dominion: Chick pulls out her own freaking wings, ouch. Loved the David story.

KJ: So should it be "of the 10"? Looks like these level 6 have an equal standing in the political circle. Should be an interesting finale given that everything going to hell. Is the brother about to be converted to a 6?

DM: Kinda fishy how easily they first managed to get captured. #2 some sort of created pseudo human could be interesting, but why the hell does she still have the bandage on. The "armor" worn by the boarding party, WTF was that crap. Fully expecting now for them to get blamed for the planet.
