Syfy Orders Ronald Moore's Helix to Series

Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore (that hair... it's... glorious!) is heading back to Syfy with Helix, a new science-fiction project ordered to series today. Moore will executive produce the program, which has this delightful logline: "Helix is an intense thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation." Fun! No parts have been cast, but Syfy expects to launch the 13-episode season later this year. [Syfy via press release)

Some websites are hinting its about zombies.

SyFy channel is like the National Inquirer. Its about as yellow as they come. Run by morons and watched by idiots (well, not entirely).

I bet the zombies will end up being aliens.

little know fact. All scifi HAS TO HAVE ZOMBIES AND TIME TRAVEL IN IT now that writing has died in hollywood.

It sounds like a "bubble" show. If its only about a small group of people in the arctic I guess Syfy could produce it cheaply. All they need is some CGI snow.

Let us hope it doesn't have anything to do with zombies. Can't stand it. That horse has been beaten to a bloody pulp.

No faith in SyFy anymore. It'll be a shitty zombie rehash, the plot will make no sense and will leave a zillion unanswered questions, and then it'll get canceled after half a season. Unless it's bad, in which case it'll stick around forever.

Oh for F's sake.

This inserting of zombies into everything is so damn lazy.

Who would have throught rebooting Battlestar Galactica would have been any good? Various Star Treks, GvE, Carnivale, SBG... This guy gets the benefit of the doubt. If he wants to do zombies, I'll check it out.

I'll give Moore a solid chance, but I'm pretty sure SyFy will dick him around on extra seasons and will turn the show to turd.

I'd rather they bring this back.
