I would like to know what minimum CPU, RAM, And Video-Carb brand/memory I would need for this usage:
Photoshop 7+ (no heavy or commercial useage)
Frontpage 2003 ( I would imagine anything on the market would be good now)
Mathematics (I plan on running higher-end astronomcial software that will be using large databases, I would like a system that can hit the math and display star field images without having to wait too long, and possibly some MATH-CAD type software)
Multimedia - Video editing - light usage.
Multimedia - possibly some animation software for a book I am writing on Military drills of the 1840's - 1860's.
No games - I have Xbox Live.
**Future Use. IF I go with a 1.6 Centrino - will it be outdated far before the notebook DTR's for the above non-gaming software? For instance - I have a AMD 400-450 right now - not quite good enough for Photoshop 6, but only a little faster and instead of 280 Ram, have 512 Ram and I am probably set for that. I am guessing a 1 Ghz chip will fly through astronimical software
