Hey,

I have had my 840 for about 3 months. I would really like to keep it on over night and cut down on noise (it's in my bedroom). The clips allow for vibration, which I why I want to get rid of them. However, when i cut out the punched out grills (something else I plan on doing) where would I screw the fan grill into? So, you'd get rid of the clip. But, then you have those stupid square holes in the case. What to do, what to do. I don't really want to have open holes in my case (especially big ones) that allow dust to get in. Something I was thinking of doing: Over at Hard OCP, i read the walkthrough on how to modify your case. When the guy screwed up, he just cut a square of medal out of his case, and replaced it with plexiglass... http://www.hardocp.com/articles/casemod101/part1_2/pic27.html. How did he get that to stay in there? Cause I may do that so my fans stay in. I don't know yet though..

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sean!

By "clips" do you mean the snap out brackets that the fans fit in? Another option to removing them is putting small squares of self-adhesive foam insulation between them and the case and also between them and the fan. I did that it mine and it reduced the vibration a lot.
