I gave up on swype and adopted swiftkey. much better IMO.

I love swiftkey except for when I'm typing while browsing, for example if I were to be writing this message via my cell phone I would hate it. I have no idea why but on my EVO it just slows to an absolute slow motion crawl. (yes that's really slow). I've tried both standard and Dolphin browsers and it still does it.

With that being said, I like the keyboard enough that I paid for it and still use it but have thought about changing my default keyboard for the browser to the standard keyboard (no lag when using it).

Well I went and tried swiftkey and that kb just wouldn't listen to me, kept picking letters near where I'd pressed. Anyway, went back and gave Swype another chance and it's starting to grow on me.

I used swype on my Vibrant for a couple months. I got tired of it after a while and went back to thumb-typing using the Gingerbread keyboard included w/ Bionix(currently Bionix-V 1.3.1).
