Switching Motherboards - Any issues?

I would like to switch my via-based Gigabyte MB to an Abit SA6R board which is recommended by Anandtech.

Are there any issues that I need to worry about WRT pre-existing software that has been installed that is specific to my original board? I'm thinking of the VIA 4in1 drivers that I currently have installed.

Can I just switch to the new MB and expect things to work? If not, what will I need to do?

Thanks,
-Tom

When I did this ...98 SE pretty much installed all that was needed. I was still having some probs with IRQ's missing, so I deleted system.dat & user.dat ...also the enum key in the registry, and reloaded (from DOS) 98SE from the install cabs I had preloaded onto the hard drive.
Good luck.
