I am switching out the MoBo on my mothers computer because I believe it is dieing. she is currently using a GB K8N Pro and I am switching it out for a ASROCK K8upgrade NF3. I was wondering since both are nForce 3 250gb motherboards if I could make the switch without having to do a clean install?

it should work, just make sure if you had to load disk drivers that you load the new ones before swapping boards if the asrock one uses a different controller chip.

The first time you boot the PC into Windows after the hardware change, use Safe Mode and let it detect/install any new hardware. Then restart into normal mode.

I was able to move a Raid 0 array from an XFX 680i LT to the EVGA 780i FTW. yup, it worked :D
I later on installed the OS to my raptor, and kept my games on the array, but it is still up an running fine. well, accept that my 780i broke and is in RMA right now, but when I get it back, I expect no trouble getting everything back and working again. Still, be prepared.
