Switching HDs and OS

Hello you guys.

Ok, I just got a new 120GB HD. I have a stock 13.6 in the tower right now which is kinda filled up. I want to make the 120GB the Primary HD and make the 13.6 a backup drive. How should I go about this?

- Running WinXP Pro
- 448MB RAM
- P3 500mHz

simple, set your new HD to master. and your old to slave.

Well, how about the OS? It's installed on the old one with the programs. Should I just copy that over to the new one then reformat it?

Supposedly you can use something like Partitionmagic or Norton Ghost to copy your old hard disk to your new one. Then boot off the new one. Only worked for me once tho.

I dont know why the OS needs to know which drive (master or slave) it is on. Worst case, you might just have to move the boot loarder to the master.
