Switching hard drive causing problems

I need help. I am trying to take a hard drive from one machine and putting it into another. The operating system is ME and the new system is a HP Pavilion. When it booted is checked the hardware and indicates it must update, then goes throught each part of the motherboard, BUSes, and devices looking for drivers. Is this normal?
 
yes it is, new computer...new hardware. however, im sure there will be confilcts in ur device manager. consider doing a fresh install.
 
Fresh install not a good option as my install CD's are at my other home. I only brought the hard drive. Any other suggestions?
