switching from DSL to Cable

My one year agreement with SBC is almost up and i'm really leaning towards switching to Comcast because of the slow speeds. Would Comcast give me a generous deal when switching?

I had Comcast cable, and it was nice, but try raised the price on me like 2 or 3 times. I now have SBC, and it is slower, but around here, it is also like $20 a month cheaper.

You can probably get a nice deal if you tell them you are switching from DSL.

We were getting 2-3mbit downloads and 400-500k up when we had it. We had the el-cheapo bundled with digital cable package.

you think i could convince them to bundle $19.99 cable internet with $9.99 cable tv with one year guarantee/agreement?

Everyone around Atlanta that I know that has Comcast has been nothing but pleased with it... If I didn't live so far out in the woods, I would have it myself, but as it is the local cable company advertises 2Mbit and when I had service with them I never saw anything close to 1Mbit, so I went to DSL! Comcast is where it's at from what I have heard though!

Probably not, im not really sure of their current packages but they are very adamant about you selecting one of their "pre-built" packages.

Yes, theyll cut you off. Thats why Im with SBC, I will not put up with comcast's outrageous pricing, $57 cause I dont have cable? Fvck that, Im MUCH happier with SBC anyways, I get 6000/608 for $45? Comcast can't touch that.

btw, i have both Comcast Cable AND Verizon DSL at home right now (took advantage of Comcasts $19.99/ month offer).

comcast has faster download speeds, verizon DSL has better latency.

its not about switching, lol. you can have them both. they are not the same, meaning 2 different technology here.

Do you have a slower package or just too far away? Overall SBC is usually a bit faster for less money SBC has 3mbit down 384 up, which is slightly faster then comcast on the up for about $6 a month less. But ya I would order comcast first if you do switch, so that you dont have any gap in service.

yeah i'm too far away. In fact today a technican had to come in and check out why i was getting such slow speeds. About two months ago, i called to check if the higher speed was available and they said yes, so i went ahead and confirmed a speed upgrade. Now they tell me i'm too far away :disgust:
