I've had some crappy luck with Verizon but maybe they've imrpoved.. DSL as networkable as cable modems (I have 4 PCs).. Thanks for any help!

If you want to save more money Dish has a 24.99 plan which is pretty good channel list and free equipment. But you wont be able to get the sports packages with Dish though.

MacGaven,

I have a Nokia 3390 with T-Mobile's $69.99/mo family plan and a Compaq Presario 1500T laptop with Dell TrueMobile 1150 WiFi card.

What do I need hardware wise to use T-Mobile's unlimited internet GPRS plan?

Thanks.

RossMAN,

I don't know if you can add a GPRS Data Plan to a Nokia 3390. Most of the phones that T-Mobile now sells have modems built-in and only require a link of data cable, Bluetooth, or IR to connect with a laptop.

I am using a Merlin G-100 GPRS PCMCIA card that I bought off of eBay for $60 to connect to T-Mobile GPRS on my laptop. I swap out my SIM card from my phone to the Merlin card when I want to use the internet.(This is typically faster than using a phone as a modem) I average a nice 80k on this PCMCIA card when I connect around the city.

Merlin G-100 eBay Example

I would suggest you try the T-Mobile Hotspot even though it's limited in where you can connect, this plan is now $19.99 for Unlimited Data a month as well.

Tons of locations in Portland, OR

Go for it, DSL is easy to network using any standard router, and direcTV is cool (Yankees = Awesome) ($35 per month for 1.5/128 DSL through Verizon (yes, they have improved) and $35 for DirecTV (Basic Package) )

Good Luck,
