Switching my family plan over.

They want $30 for each phone. I'm signing a 2-year contract.

Is it possible to get $0 activation?

If you contract is up with ATT you should cancel it and start as a new customer with cingular and get all of the amazon.com cingular deals. :)

Just $30?

I thought most companies charged more than that for activation...

The accounts are not completely switched over yet and I believe won't be until next year.

You're going on a 2-yr contract and they won't toss out the activation fee for you? Have you asked them? If they say no, thank them and tell them you'll go somewhere else. They get commission on additional activation (Sprint was like $8 for each additional activation an agent signed up), so they'll work to retain you if you threaten to leave.

If you can wait a day I can ask my fiancee, she's an IWC rep for Cingular/ATT, she might be able to help out, but I won't see her until I get off work around 9pmEST tonight.

you are not gonna pay an activation fee, right?

that is soooo not right. They should be paying you for picking them over the other companies that will offer you good deals to switch. Tell them that if they dont comp the activation fee, you will call Verizon wireless. Then call Verizon wireless and see what the best deal they will give you to switch.

Q? though.... why would you sign a two year contract with anyone?
