Switching from ATA133 to Raid 1 on my 8IXHP?

I'm currently running my controller as ATA133 with 2 identical Maxtor 80GB drives. One has OS + Files and the other is blank. I want to enable my RAID to build from my existing drive a Raid 1 with both drives. Should I be worried about looking my data/os on drive?

If so, I have another 160GB drive. How to I backup (so it will boot, etc.) to this drive just in case?
