Decided to finally go with XP. I have the home version so hopefully I wont miss any of the features in the pro version. I have a 30 gig maxtor partitioned into 3 drives. Going to go ahead and do a clean install and format my C: drive which has 98 and all my program files on it.

I read on another post that if you have the room it is really convenient to copy the entire XP disk to another drive and then just install it from that drive. Also comes in handy for drivers and the such in the future. So what is the easiest way to do this and when im done formatting how do I install it?

Thanks for the help sorry for the newb questions.

just copy all the files from the CD onto a (fat32) partition somewhere on your drive, or on another drive. then boot and run the setup.exe in one of the directories. I just install from CD, then dump the disc into a directory on my hard drive later in case I need drivers.
