Switching from 5770's to 670 - is driver cleaner necessary?

I was looking up this old program to ensure I dont have any complications when I make the switch tomorrow. However, it's apparently now bloated crapware that costs money. I used to use it before installing any new drivers but I stopped caring that much.

Bottom line, how do I ensure every trace of ATI drivers is eliminated to prevent conflicts?

I don't know what the normal routine is, but I just uninstalled the Catalyst drivers and installed nVidia drivers without any issues when I last changed graphics card (5770 to 560Ti). I've not had any problems.

I might go a little overboard on driver switching and removals, but for AMD drivers, I have 3 steps after a control panel Catalyst uninstall ;)

-Atiman Uninstaller to get all the driver files.
-Driver Sweeper to mop up any possible leftover driver files.
-CCleaner to wipe the registry of dead driver links.

I've had zero issues doing this.

chimaxi83 uses a very thorough protocol. Just make sure with crap cleaner than you use only the portion to clean the registry. You could wipe out all of your cookies if not careful. Let us know how the GTX 670 stacks up!

Lol cookies aren't a huge deal but yes, CCleaner will wipe out everything if you let it. Just hit the registry tab and go from there. It's a pretty decent utility.
